Story Arts of Minnesota exists to promote the art of storytelling and to develop and support storytellers. We imagine a society in which storytellers are recognized for their ability to provide a relevant, inspiring and transformative service to individuals and the community through the art and craft of spoken narrative. We envision SAM
Story Arts of Minnesota exists to promote the art of storytelling and to develop and support storytellers. We imagine a society in which storytellers are recognized for their ability to provide a relevant, inspiring and transformative service to individuals and the community through the art and craft of spoken narrative. We envision SAM as a leader in promoting storytelling as a performance art form as well as fostering its application within such areas as education, historical interpretation, health care, psychotherapy, spiritual direction, and organizational life. SAM helps storytellers develop professionally and work productively within and across these fields.
StoryFest 2027 will take place on Saturday, April 10th at the Bloomington Center for the Arts, 1800 W Old Shakopee Rd, Bloomington, MN. StoryFest is a full day and evening of story performances, workshops for storytellers of all levels, and open mics. Plus information tables, food trucks, and ample opportunities to network, learn, and make new friends who also love the story arts!
Black Storytellers Alliance is a nonprofit organization in North Minneapolis, Minnesota, dedicated to walking alongside our community in finding, connecting, and expanding the knowledge, practice, and power of the African Oral Tradition once practiced widely across the African Diaspora.
